Hello All! It's been awhile but i have some down time so i thought i would post.
Ive seen some movies the past few weeks.
First was "Atonement". I was kinda forced into going. It SUCKED lol. It didnt have that great of plot, it skipped around alot (i believe the last 30mins was a flashback and of those 30mins, 10 of them were just an imagination of the so-called main character). It was just, i think, a bad movie. It was a long two hours. I was ready to go once those credits came up lol. so, that ranks up as my #2 worst movie ever seen following closely behind "Open Waters".
I rented "The Heartbreak Kid". I would give it a strong 4 stars. Ben Stiller is his usual funny self. After marrying his "true love" he finds out his newlywed wife is not what she seemed. It's really funny. His father makes appearances in the movie, playing his father. He too is hysterical. Funny. I would definetly recommend it. I think more of a renter than a buyer but its def. worth seeing.
Me and Steph headed out to the movies last night. **Reminder** $5 movies Tuesday at Woburn Cinema!!!!! This week we saw "Untraceable". The critics gave it a bad review with only 1 1/2 Stars, some mixed-bags. All i got to say about that, BOGUS! lol It was a pretty good movie. I would rate it at a high 3-low 4 star rating. its a movie that you could wait to rent but, as with any movie, the theaters put a different edge on it. Its a pretty good crime mystery movie and they keep it flowing. The ending is very action packed, and it seemed to kind of end with a cliff-hanger. Maybe a sequel is in mind? Possibly. But i doubt it. These movies tend to not have sequels and if they do theyre usually not that good anyway. Anywho, good movie, def. recommend it.
I finally got "Dumb and Dumber" on DVD. for some reason i couldnt find it anywhere on dvd. but i found it. got it at Hollywood video for $7. I just went on sat. and they didnt have that good of a selection like they usually do. The deals this wk were 2 for $20, 4 for $20 (dif movies) and theyre usual 3 for $18. Good deals. I usally go in there and spend like 60 bucks but not this time. They didnt have a good selection (most of the movies i already have lol). However later that night i hopped onto amazon.com and looked at their dvd listings. They had on special: "Forrest Gump" 2-disc special limited edition set for $4.99 and "Saving Private Ryan" Limited Ed. set for $4.99 also. Of course i picked those up. I also got "Transformers" for $10 off amazon and "Brian Regan: Standing Up". In fact, now that i think of it, those are all coming TODAY! lol sweet! I'll be headin over to hollywood video next wknd if not this wknd to check out new deals.
Movies coming out that i want to see: "Strange Wilderness" (Coming out Feb 1st!). Looks HYSTERICAL. Steve Zahn is the lead. They're out shooting animal documentaries like you would see on discovery or animal planet. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0489282/). Also appearing in is Jonah Hill, Seth in "SuperBad". It looks like he'll have us laughing and putting on his usual performance. Justin Long, from "Waiting" and "Dodgeball" also is in it and he looks like he will bring some laughs to the film as well. Please check out the trailer to the movie. After seeing that Jonah Hill was in it, i looked to see if he was making new films. He is indeed. He is coming out in a new movie coming out this year co-starring with Jason Segal (the guy who was hittin on Katherin Heigels sister in "Knocked up"). Its called "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". It should be coming out in April. Also appearing in the movie is Paul Rudd ("Knocked Up") and Bill Hader (cop from "SuperBad"). In fact Jason Segal (Co-Star) wrote it. Same guys that brought "40 Year old Virgin" and "Knocked Up".
Other movies coming out soon, "88 Minutes" starring none other than Al Pacino. Another Crime drama coming out in April. Al Pacino is being framed for a murder. Looks GREAT! another Pacino great. Cant wait! (http://imdb.com/title/tt0411061/).
Other movies worth just mentioning coming soon: "Over Her Dead Body" (Feb. 1) starring Eva Longoria and Paul Rudd.
Movies out now that i want to check out: "Meet the Spartans", the newly redone "Rambo", "Cloverfield", "The Bucket List", "National Treasure 2", "No country for old men", "I am Legend" and believe it or not "Mad Money". If anyones seen any of these let me know how they were and if it's worth seeing.
Check back from time to time. Im hoping that Tuesdays ill get to see a new movie every week. Hopefully! lol If not, ill keep you informed about new releases and/or deals. Thanks for stoppin in.
