Movie Blog

Hey Guys and Girls. This is the first of many of my movie blog entries. As you all know, I love movies. I love going to the movies, watching movies, and criticizing movies.

There are a few movies already in theaters that are quite intriguing. "American Gangster", directed by Ridley Scott (Gladiator) and starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, is an exciting crime drama that focuses on the life of Frank Lucas (Washington), a Harlem drug kingpin. Supposedly, Lucas was once above the mob. Ritchie Roberts (Crowe) is a street savvy cop that follows/investigates Lucas. This movie looks like its going to be kick ass and action packed with many twists and turns. I surely can't wait to see it. It was released 11/02/07 and is still in theaters. Any takers?

Also in theaters, "Bee Movie". This animated movie, released by Dream Works, is another one of those funny animations like "Finding Nemo" or "Cars". This production is jammed packed with amazing actors. To name a few; Jerry Seinfeld, Renee Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, and John Goodman. Not really sure what this movie entails but from what I can gather, a bee by the name of Barry B. Benson (Seinfeld) is not happy about his "career path" as a bee, a.k.a. collecting honey. And he breaks the "cardinal rule" with bee's: talking to humans. He meets a florist (Zellweger). From there, it's anyones guess what goes on. It looks funny with quick lines and that humor that adults and kids will laugh at, the only difference is that adults will understand the joke where as the children laugh because there is a bee on the screen lol.

Coming to a theater near you on Nov. 9th, "Fred Clause". From the director of Wedding Crashers, starring Vince Vaughn, this is another funny Christmas Movie. It seems like a similar idea to Santa Clause, with the whole Santa's workshop. Looks pretty funny with Vince's humor. I'm not really sure what the movie is about but after watching the trailer it looks to be a good holidayesk movie.

Also in theaters this Friday (Nov. 9th), "No Country For Old Men" and "Lions For Lambs". "No Country for Old Men" directed by the Coen Brothers ("Intolerable Cruelty"), this crime drama stars no one other than Mr. Tommy Lee Jones himself. From what I can gather, Jones plays a sheriff in this remote area who tries to stop a rash of violence. This violence is caused when Llewelyn Moss (played by Josh Brolin) finds a truck surrounded by money, heroin, and dead bodies. He makes off with the money sparking this violent spree. It looks extremely action packed and most of all, suspenseful. As for "Lions for Lambs", Robert Redford not only directed but co-starred in this drama along with Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise. I honestly have no real clue what is happening in this film but it looks action packed, dramatic, and looks like something that can hold my attention.

One movie I'm particularly excited about is "I Am Legend", starring Will Smith. After something goes wrong in the world (not really sure what), Will Smith is left alone with his dog to fight to regain control of this world. At least that what it seems like. The trailer says it all. With the action that goes on in this movie, I definitely want to see it in theaters. This movie is coming to theaters December 14th.

A few other movies just to mention, "National Treasure: Book of Secrets", starring Nick Cage, is a sequel to the first National Treasure released I believe in 2000. "Charlie Wilson's War", starring the great Tom Hanks, the beautiful Julia Roberts, and the award winning Philip Seymour Hoffman, looks like a brilliant made movie. I wonder if this will be an award winning movie? lol That comes to theaters on Christmas. "The Bucket List", stars Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. The two are sick with cancer and set out with the "list" to do things they wish they did before they died. That also has Christmas set as the release date. And another movie to mention, one that I'm personally not interested in but thought others would be is, "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium", starring Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman. I feel as though it's going to be similar to the newly released version of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". If you liked that, I think you'll like this. That has a Nov. 16th release day set.

That's that for now. This entry was long only because it was my first. Now that all these have been said, I'll be giving updates, comments, and most importantly criticizing them. If you have any movies that you've seen that we should know about or movies you want to see, let me know and I'll post it. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

Just a side note: I would like to congratulate the Patriots on their amazing VICTORY against the Colts!!!!!

Happy Blogging.
